SwineSpotting Cycling Collective was started by a group of family and friends who had enough of watching cancer tear apart the lives of people they love. This same group of people also love cycling. So, they decided to get together and fight that thing they hate by doing that thing they love.
We're riding all 460 miles across Iowa to raise money via donations from kind people like you. If you hate cancer like we do, give what you can, and we'll keep you posted on our progress. Also, like us on Facebook at facebook.com/SwineSpotting for inspiring, and sometimes silly, content collected during our ride.
The name, SwineSpotting, was inspired by SSIC's inaugural ride: RAGBRAI, The (Des Moines) Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. If you’re traveling at 10 to 20 miles per hour across the entire state of Iowa, you’re going to spot at least a few of our cloven-hoofed friends. We're embracing that, because pigs are adorable. And delicious (sorry, but it's true).
