Make a Difference in the Fight Against Women's Cancers! We are running/walking for our mom. Our mom was an active, vibrant, healthy 58 year old. A diagnosis of cancer in late May 2012 left us devastated. Our family had always been so healthy. We didn't believe it could be happening to us. Uterine cancer is associated with being treatable, a 'better cancer' to have, this proved to be the opposite of true for our family. After just 4 months, on October 5th, 2012 our beautiful and brilliant mom passed away. She fought hard every single day and was willing to do whatever it took to stay with with us for even a little longer despite all the pain she was in. Even with access to arguably the best care we were unable to slow down this horribly aggressive, painfully unfair disease. We are running for our mom. Someone who loved her children and husband more than anything else in the world. An amazing individual that loved math and doing taxes, boogie boarding (she would go in the water at the beach no matter how cold it was), her garden, traveling, and took up kite surfing in her 50's. She was a loyal friend, devoted daughter and sister, and the absolute best wife and mom in every way.
We miss her an insurmountable amount. She will never get to see her kids get married, have grandkids, or enjoy retirement with her husband. All things she desperately wanted and deserved to do. It is still impossible for us to believe she is gone. Our hearts are broken. The injustice of losing her too soon is still raw and the tears continue to come everyday but, we try to remember the happy times and never, ever forget how lucky we were to call her our own.

On May 4th, our team will be participating in the 16th Annual EIF Revlon Run/Walk For Women. An inspiring and motivating day, from the confetti start to the emotional crossing of the finish line! Together, we will run or walk to raise funds for ground breaking research, provide diagnostic services and support women facing cancer. Every step and every dollar brings us closer to the ultimate Finish Line - an end to women's cancers.
